If anybody has some good critiques of utilitarianism, I’d love to hear them.
Nuclear holocaust may be improbable, and nuclear war may not cause mass extinction(s), but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that both are fucking horrible.
Actually nuclear wars now would prevent nuclear wars in the future.
Because everybody would be fucking dead, yeah.
So there’s this whole literature base that claims nuclear wars now are good because they prevent wars involving even more disastrous weapons in the future.
FUCKING UTILITARIANS.
Equality cannot be forcibly imposed, because in doing so, the inequality is simply transferred from one domain to the domain of power.
If anybody has a good critique of rape culture/misogyny from an egoist standpoint that’d be awesome. It seems like a long-ass climb from amoralism to there…
Arguing for the State in terms of justice is pretty damn stupid, even if you’re using morally-loaded terminology.
bakuninja replied to your chat: My friend: I think we have a natural inertia…
are you against civilsation as a whole or just western civilisation?
The dichotomy is meaningless, at this point. Western civilization sacrificed itself as a coherent, specific entity to become an all-encompassing spirit/essence implied in the “global society” of today.
My friend: I think we have a natural inertia towards the State and domination in general.
Me: Tell that to the millions of indigenous peoples who fought and died viciously, and still are, in response to the encroachment of western civilization.

You can’t fucking taste it.
Besides, Yoohoo doesn’t expire as quickly as milk does IIRC so I doubt that the “little bit of milk” is anything more than an at-home add-on.
Actually Yoohoo doesn’t even contain real milk; it just has whey and sodium...

The left square, labelled “world,” is around the size of Austria. If that area were covered in solar thermal power plants, it could produce enough electricity to meet world demand. The area in the center would be required to meet European demand. The one on the right corresponds to Germany’s energy demand.

But my point still stands.

Murray Bookchin and his “lifestyle anarchism” caricature is the most divisive, destructive, and sectarian thing to ever happen to anarchism since the Platform was published. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that it’s probable that Bookchin got bankrolled by the FBI to start the whole kerfuffle and “divide and conquer” the newly-resurrected anarchist consciousness, given the stark contrast...
The sad thing is that that’s probably the most subversive thing I’ve done in my entire high school career besides failing to organize an Occupy event 2 years ago.
I did the Black Power salute onstage, while receiving my diploma. I punched off my cap, but I guess that’s symbolic in itself.
So much patronizing bullshit.

By “nice” I meant clever, concise, and unshakable.

Worst case scenario is you show up naked.
Best case scenario is everybody shows up naked.
My friend just made a really good point about Cory Doctorow Greg Karber and his campaign against Abercrombie and Fitch. He said that Karber is subconsciously implying that homeless people are dirty, inferior and digusting in trying to “ruin” A&F’s image.
Oh well, it’s not the worst-case scenario.

young chomsky is such a qt3.14 though.

I decided to #YOLO it and watch the debate first, and I’m surprised at how much I’m liking Foucault. This man had a very novel and insightful way of looking at things.
