But like you can’t just point to someone’s whiteness or maleness and say “privilege, therefore you are wrong” and invalidate their argument without confronting it.

Yeah. Categorical rejections of one’s positions are something certain primitivists love to do (“heart-lung machines save lives but they have to be destroyed because they’re technology”), and almost everybody gives them shit for that, and rightly so. What’s the difference here? I’m genuinely curious.

The only prominent post-leftist I can think of that isn’t a shitlord is Fredy Perlman and I would hesitate to call him post-left tbh.

I mean wikipedia has him in the category of post left, and he did a bunch of stuff with Fifth Estate and he is definitely anti-civ, but he has a totally different feel to me than most of the authors we call post-left (probably because half of his writing isn’t him just being really sassy and esoteric)

I thought Bob Black and Landstreicher had a falling out because he did some shitty stuff? Maybe I’m remembering that wrong, I’m to lay to look that up. Zerzan is a pretty great dude though, your right about that. Also there are hella shitlords in every radical school of thought, and the shittier ones tend to get the most attention. Also I’m not super concerned about appealing to the left.

Yeah, Bob Black and Landstreicher (back when Wolfi wrote under the Feral Faun pen name) had a feud because Bobby had just capitulated to law enforcement and Wolfi was having none his shit; Wolfi wrote a scathing critique of Black and called him a snitch and a hypocrite, and Black shot back at him a short while later.

Nah I think Bob Black warrants the label “dudebro” instead (e.g. his infamous Feminism as Fascism essay). All Wolfi did was critique the notion of identity politics and victimization. I read that essay many times and from what I can gather, Wolfi is encouraging people not to seek out false comfort in delayed forms of retribution but to actively attack anything they see as a threat to themselves. Based on my understanding, I don’t think Wolfi would have any problem with a lynch mob going after rapists, or something similar to that.

Okay, first, a semicolon is not the same as a hyphen. Don’t get it twisted.

A semicolon connects two complete sentences that are part of the same thought; accordingly, it works like a long single comma.

A hyphen, on the other hand, inserts an idea into a sentence—usually one whose statement interrupts the logic of the sentence—which is necessary to make sense of the sentence; in this way, it works like a long pair of commas.

If you think I’m lying, switch the hyphens and semicolons in the above sentences and look at how wrong they appear.

I’m guilty of doing both almost incessantly when I’m writing formally, so, you know.
